Last year, I was thrilled to start working for a Glasgow based social enterprise, WildHearts Group. The purpose of WildHearts is to create global social change by inspiring our next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs to use business as a force for good.
They’ve certainly been succeeding in their mission and it has been very humbling to participate in many of their events through the year. I have witnessed first-hand the incredible empowerment and energy for change felt by all those involved.
WildHearts Group’s Global Entrepreneurial Leaders Summit at the United Nations
Most of the work has been in Glasgow, Edinburgh and London. But, in November, I headed off to the United Nations in Geneva for WildHearts Group’s Global Entrepreneurial Leaders (GEL) Summit. The summit brought together some of the world’s leading Corporate, Social and Founding Entrepreneurs. Together they celebrated the WildHearts vision of using business as a force for social and economic change.
My role at the gathering was to document the event and create authentic imagery which the organisation can use for their marketing and future events. I was able to capture all of the action, reaction and interaction as the students from diverse backgrounds collaborated to create innovative ideas designed to address the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These SDG’s are well worth a read as they form a blueprint of how we can transform our world to tackle the major issues of the 21st century.
It was an incredibly positive atmosphere to work in. The way the students reacted to the challenges they were set was a testament to the inspirational energy of Dr. Mick Jackson, the entrepreneur behind WildHearts. His various addresses to the group through the day along with the other inspirational speakers from all over the world really fired up the students to think out of their comfort zone and start inventing some brave new approaches to achieving the SDGs.
This was a great event to be part of. It was a very busy few days and an enormous amount of fun. All the people I met were incredibly inspiring and really gave me hope for the future in a time when so many of the global challenges we face seem insurmountable.
Corporate and Event Photography with Epic Scotland
If you have an upcoming event, have you considered the value of commissioning photography to capture the essence of the gathering? Creative images that are both artistic and authentic will serve to inspire people to attend future events. They will also give you a great body of work to promote the engagement and innovation created by your organisation.
My background in photojounalism has given me the experience to get the best out of an event like the WildHearts GEL Summit in Geneva, creating documentary images that weave a compelling narrative as well as more staged eye-catching images that appeal to press and look great on the cover of printed marketing materials.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me to discuss the next photo opportunity for you and your company!
