Cameron House exhibits Colin Prior

I recently photographed the renowned Scottish landscape photographer Colin Prior to mark a new exhibition of his work at Cameron House, the five-star resort in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.

It was great to meet Colin again and gather some insight into the thinking behind the images.

“Great photographs of the outdoors seldom happen by accident. They are the result of personal observation over a long period of time in which I have familiarised myself with a particular area and begin to understand its rhythms and nuances. The skill is in knowing where to place yourself to take advantage of a moment that has yet to develop – it’s like hunting with a camera. Being on the banks of Loch Lomond, Cameron House is set in a stunning location, so it’s the ideal place to show off my photography.”
