In January of 2018, I was commissioned by two wonderful friends of mine for marketing shots of their new small business, Dreamcatcher Cabins. They launched the business near my home in Gartmore, Stirlingshire and it has been a real treat watching their business grow over the past year.
Marketing Photo Session for Dreamcatcher Cabins in Gartmore
Brian and Fiona are two truly amazing friends of mine. I’d known of their plans for a while before things got started. I was excited to see the project get underway and take shape because I knew it would be amazing as this couple has got great energy and they don’t do anything by halves! They needed the cabins photographed so they’d have a stock of images to use on their website and social media channels.
Located in the heart of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, the cabins are situated very close to the River Forth. It’s many miles from the sea, but a seal was spotted in the river by the cabins last year!
Dreamcatcher cabins are a fantastic concept where you can experience outdoor living while remaining protected from the elements. They are designed for 2 people and occupy a completely private and secluded patch of their very own woodland.
All the cabins have a covered deck that accommodates an outdoor bath, wood burning stove, a big comfy sofa and basic cooking facilities. Inside the cabin is a double bed and bathroom. They have everything you need for a comfortable stay in the woods!
The concept of the cabins is to provide the conditions for you to rejuvenate, recharge and escape the usual pressures of everyday life.
One aim is to let nature flourish around the cabins, so the cabins themselves are very eco-friendly. They use electricity from solar panels and composting toilets. And all the wood cladding for the cabins came from timber from the land the cabins are built on.
The cabins even have great names like Red Squirrel’s Drey, Fox’s Lair, Jay’s Nest and Badger’s Sett.
When it comes to architecture and interior design, Brian and Fiona are a real force of nature. They built the cabins and set up the business in a matter of months in the harshest winter conditions with incredible energy. They run the business with the help of their sons Jamie and Ross.
Alongside all of the hard work and energy of these guys, they have a wonderful creative flair that has made it a real pleasure to photograph the cabins. They’ve added such amazing detail to the cabins, like fairy lights, candles and flowers to log-built tables and chairs and wood carved animal figures. They were even finalists in the recent Scottish Rural Awards only months after opening!
Brian and Fiona have put a lot of love into this business and it was a real honour to be able to capture the magic in photos for their Marketing Campaign! I wish them the best of luck in their business endeavours and can’t wait to watch their leisure business grow even more!
